Howard K. "Skip" Pita

Skip Pita is a member of the Millon Dollar Advocates Forum. He has been recognized as a Top Lawyer by the South Florida Legal Guide since 2002. In 2011, the National Institute of Trial Advocacy named Skip as a top 100 trial lawyer in Florida. In 2010, he was recognized state-wide as a top lawyer in Florida's Legal Elite.
In 2003, Skip won a jury verdict of over $10 million for a paralyzed South Florida security officer who was in a contested auto accident with a Hertz rental car. In 2007, Skip won a medical malpractice jury award, and was nominated to the American Board of Trial Advocacy by his opponent, who was the President of the Florida Bar.
In 2008, after having juries award more than Skip requested in closing argument, Skip was asked by the National Business Institute to teach at lawyer seminars on persuasive closing argument.
Skip has represented numerous other clients against major defense firms and insurance carriers throughout Florida, consistently delivering successful verdicts and settlements.
Skip is licensed in both the state and federal courts of Florida. He belongs to the Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Miami-Dade County Trial Lawyers Association.
Skip attended law school at Southern Methodist University, and received a masters in law at George Washington University. He attended undergraduate school at the University of Texas.
Skip grew up in both the United States and in Latin America. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
Shannon Del Prado

Shannon del Prado is a member of the Millon Dollar Advocate Forum. Since 2004, she has been recognized as a Top Lawyer by the South Florida Legal Guide in the area of personal injury and medical malpractice. And in 2011, she was named as a top lawyer in the Miami Herald. From the start, Shannon wasted no time learning how to try cases. In her first trial, she won a $485,000 jury verdict. From there, she has gone on to obtain numerous successful results for her clients.
When it comes to the details of representing clients, nobody does it like Shannon. She is thorough and knows how to maximize clients' recovery. Her peers know it. In 2010, Shannon her peers elected to the Board for the Miami-Dade Justice Association. The MDJA is Miami-Dade's preeminent trial lawyer organization.
Shannon is licensed in both the state and federal courts of Florida. She belongs to the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the South Miami Kendall Bar Association.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Shannon worked for both the U.S. Departments of Justice and State throughout Latin American and the Caribbean. In addition to her law degree from the South Texas College of Law, she holds a masters degree in international business from George Mason University. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
Richard Muñoz

Richard Muñoz is a Miami native. After nearly 20 years as a successful solo practitioner, Richard was honored to join Pita & del Prado in 2011 and form Pita, del Prado & Muñoz. Having settled substantial personal injury cases and litigated hundreds of cases in court, Mr. Muñoz was a natural addition to the firm.
Richard received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University in 1987 and his Juris Doctorate degree from Cumberland School of Law in 1991. He is licensed to practice law in both the state and federal courts of Florida and was licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
Mr. Muñoz handles serious personal injury matters, resulting from accidents of all types, as well as from medical malpractice. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
