707 Airliner Crash in Ecuador -- Confidential Settlement

In 1999, an Ecuadoran lawyer obtained a judgment against Millon Air following a 707 crash in Ecuador killing thirty people on the ground. The liability carrier for Millon Air refused to recognize the authenticity of the judgment. P&D pursued the matter in Florida, where Millon Air was based. P&D filed suit to enforce and domesticate the judgment in the United States. The case settled in 2004 under confidential terms.
