Welcome to the firm of Pita & Del Prado

Firm Overview & Philosophy

At Pita & Del Prado, we are trial lawyers dedicated to representing persons in serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. We also provide contingency-based representation in other areas, such as commercial litigation and insurance disputes.

We believe the jury system is the most just way to determine your damages. From the start, we prepare every case to be tried and won in front of a jury. No two cases are alike. The strategy for each case is different. But our goal is always the same -- put the client in the best position to win before the jury.

While it is true that cases are often settled without trial, in order to obtain the best result for you, the opposition must understand that your lawyers are prepared to go all the way to trial. It is on this philosophy that we have built our winning reputation and upon which we have achieved successful results for the clients that we have been honored to represent.

Our doors are open. We welcome an opportunity to meet with you for a free consultation. When you meet us and understand our philosophy, we are confident that you will know you have come to the right firm. We would consider it a privilege to represent you.

Tips & Suggestions

  1. Buy Uninsured Motorist Insurance Coverage. Many motorists do not pay the extra premium to carry underinsured (or uninsured) motorist coverage, commonly called UM coverage. That is terrible. If you are seriously injured or worse, killed, in an auto accident and the the other driver has little or no insurance, your recovery will be limited unless that driver has significant assets that can be reached. But if you carry UM coverage, that coverage will pay for your damages -- including pain, suffering, mental anguish, and wrongful death damages. Essentially, your own UM coverage acts as coverage for the other driver where little or no coverage existed. At P&D, we have recovered substantial sums for clients that were wise enough to obtain UM coverage. When you buy auto insurance, the insurance agent must explain UM coverage to you and you must sign a rejection form if you do not want it. At P&D, we recommend that you do not reject UM coverage. We recommend that you obtain the extent of UM coverage that you can afford within your budget. UM protects you and your family for the many uninsured drivers on the road.
